Author Description

The purpose of this book is to promote geriatric content in the basic nursing curriculum in order to ensure that new nurse graduates are properly prepared to care for the growing numbers of elderly in the United States. Distinguished nurse educators review the current state of geriatrics and gerontology in the nursing curriculum, and make recommendations for fully incorporating it into the program of study. Among the contributors to this volume are Mathy Mezey, May Wykle, and Betty Friedan.
