Managed care companies are demanding that health care providers project a patient's plan of care, including sequence of treatments and length of time for each stage in the treatment plan. Developing and Implementing Critical Paths in Rehabilitation meets current managed care requirements and provides an interdisciplinary approach that responds to all disciplines' needs for a planned approach to rehabilitation. Developing and Implementing Critical Paths in Rehabilitation is a five-book series that contains an Instruction Manual and four pathway manuals that include: Stroke Recovery, Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, and Orthopedic/Musculoskeletal. Each treatment plan includes a flowchart showing the scheduling of treatment protocols in the rehabilitation process--from diagnosis to discharge. They also include a schedule for assessments, intervention activities, and treatment outcomes in eight functional categories that should be considered during a pateint's hospital stay.
