The broad, diverse and rich history highlighted in Exchange + Evolution celebrates the artistic collaboration and synergy of all those who worked here as museum professionals and the artists from near and far who traveled to the craftsman-style house perched at the edge of the Pacific. What an exciting legacy these artists have left to us which will continue to be studied for years to come. Through this publication we offer a closer examination into the works created and presented here in Long Beach between the years 1974 through 1999. By focusing on the international aspect of our video history, this exhibition provides fresh new revelations about the video exchange, evolution, and dialogue worldwide at a fertile time in the history of media arts.
