Callum Innes is one of Britain's best-known abstract painters. Alongside his well-known oil paintings Innes has always made works on paper and in recent years has produced a significant body of watercolours. 'History' focuses on 20 watercolours made especially for the Whitworth Art Gallery, placing them in context with Innes' wider practice and the Whitworth's long-standing interest in works on paper.
