John Oman (1860-1939) was a well-respected British theologian who passed away suddenly before he could send off the manuscript of his final book for publication. This book was finally published in 1941, and is prefaced by two memoirs of Oman written by his friends George Alexander and H. H. Farmer. In the text, Oman discusses how the First World War disturbed 'both faith and morals', and suggests important questions that must be considered for the Church to be restored. This book will be of value to anyone with an interest in inter-war Christianity and the history of theology.
