This text will be used in the two-semester introductory, algebra-based physics course for non-majors (including science students from a variety of disciplines including biology, environmental science, architecture, etc.) We acquired the rights to the 3/e from Addison-Wesley, who saw success with the first and second editions of this text. We have made significant improvements in this 3/e, most notably the design has been improved considerably and we have increased the total number of worked examples in the text by 30 percent. In addition, an interactive CD-ROM is now packaged FREE with this text. The CD-ROM that accompanies this book integrates text, animations, simulations, and includes a link to the book-specific Web site so the nature of physics is made more complete for students.
