This book explores some of the ways in which history education and human rights education can be combined and interlinked in order to empower learners for participatory and inclusive democratic citizenship. It includes twelve articles offering different perspectives that cross the borders between the two fields of education, as well as between educational policy, theory, and practice. Crossing Borders investigates how links between history education and human rights education can be created in a variety of national contexts and educational arenas, which approaches and aspects of both fields are best suited for creating these links, and the challenges in doing so.
