Young John Preston was born with an incredible natural talent. This talent makes him super-observant and highly skilled in many things. Not knowing anything about his biological parents, John lives in a cruel orphanage where they treat him like a slave. At age seventeen he escapes, with some help from a good school friend, and finds a job so that he will have money to live in the real world. Because of his amazing skills, he becomes a consultant for the Redmond Police Department in Washington State. John works on cases with his new boss, Detective Harrison, and discovers the excitement of law enforcement, along with discovering more about his past.
