This is the initial report from the National Study, carried out in 1981-82, on the functioning of the Juvenile Court in Canada. It provides a description of the operation of the juvenile justice system at six principal sites (Halifax, Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg, Edmonton and Vancouver) and offers some of the preliminary quantitative data collected in the course of the study.
