A lot has been written about how the birth of a baby changes a woman's life. But this journal of a daughter's first year tells about the effect on a man. As a newborn father at the age of 35, Bob Greene finds himself asking strangers on the street about their babies. He begins to worry more about his health and his finances and for the first time he feels himself losing a "pathological ambition" about his work.
