Author Description

Albatross Bay is a moving novella from Jon Lawrence, the author of The Pastoral. A father watches his young son sleeping in front of the fire in a little house near the waters around Cape Horn. As the fire flickers he recalls his own difficult childhood and the love he had for the mother he lost and the father he feared. Finally, he recalls the legend of the albatross and begins to understand his grief and love. Albatross Bay is a meditation on the complex relations between fathers and sons, as well as an insight into the way we deal with grief.
