One of the leading labels of the disco era of the 1970s, Casablanca Records was the brainchild of leading music executive Neil Bogart, who established the company in 1974. It was the label that gave us KISS, Donna Summer, Parliament, The Village People and Cameo, introduced us to the hit films Flashdance, Thank God It's Friday, The Deep and Midnight Express and became synonymous with the phrase 'whatever it takes' when it came to promoting its artists. Similar in style to the previously published Motown Encyclopedia and Stax Encyclopedia, this volume contains 474 entries relevant to Casablanca and Beil Bogart's later label Boardwalk (home to Joan Jett & The Blackhearts).
