This is a revised edition of the one-volume general encyclopaedia. Since publication of the print edition in 1993, 700 hundred articles have been added to cover developments in science, technology, medicine, politics, economics, sports and all of the arts. The CD-ROM features 75,000 headings available in a few keystrokes and Boolean combined word searching to enable users to find articles very quickly. Additionally, each of the more than 70,000 cross-references is linked by hypertext to related articles and long text has been broken down into titled subsections. The minimum systems requirements are: for DOS - IBM or IBM-compatible 386 or higher, MS-DOS version 5.0 or higher, 640K of RAM, CD-ROM drive using Microsoft extensions version 2.0 or higher; for Windows - IBM or IBM-compatible 386 or higher, 8MB of RAM, Microsoft Windows 3.1, MSCDEX 2.0 or higher, CD-ROM drive; for Macintosh - Macintosh 68030 or higher, 8MB of RAM, CD-ROM drive.
