Author Description

This book looks at the lives of people living in the older parts of Shanghai. Many of the places featured are already demolished and the remaining alleyways, or longtang, are rapidly disappearing in the face of modern urbanisation. You will be taken on a journey from children at play to steaming kitchens and meet some of the more colourful characters that are found in these communities.
