
For this anthology, Ian McKay has chosen fourteen texts from twenty-five years of writing about photography. Topics range from European contemporaries to the Polaroid subculture, cellphone portraiture to camera obscuras. Among the photographers featured are, Annie Leibovitz, Boyd & Evans, Simon Larbalestier, Jan Saudek, Lee Miller, and several of the most celebrated 19th and early-20th century pioneers. Also included is On the Death of Czech Culture, a long essay from 1994 about Pavel Stecha and post-communist Czechoslovakia which has been out of print for several years. The book includes a Foreword by the arts writer and publisher Mike Von Joel.
