The legal profession has become more and more internationalized and in today's modern world jurists can no longer limit themselves to studying the laws of their own country. This book is intended primarily to be used as a textbook for introductory courses on foreign and comparative law. It can also be used by legal practitioners who wish to acquire a basic knowledge about English, American, French, German, Chinese and Moslem law, as well as the socialist legal systems, and about the methodological problems arising in connection with the study of and working with foreign law in general.
