The second part of this comprehensive two-volume treatise includes full coverage of the "higher" Hamamelidae, such as Fagales, Jaglandales, Myricales, and Urticales. This fully illustrated treatment emphasizes the relationship between living and fossil members of the Hamamelidae while considering many broader biological issues, and places the "higher" hamamelids closer to certain Rosidae and Dilleiidae than to "lower" hamamelid taxa such as Trochodendrales and Hamamelidales sensu lato It will be of use to plant taxonomists, plant geographers, paleobiologists, and all other working or concerned with plant evolution.
