The memoirs of Nannette Rothschild are the basis for this unique exhibition catalogue, which chronicles the formation of Herbert and Nannette Rothschild's distinguished collection of early twentieth-century art. Tales of their adventures and evolving friendships with artists, dealers, fellow collectors, conservators, and curators in Europe and America paint their own picture of the challenges facing collectors at the midpoint of this century.
