`Geomorphology is alive and well` was one verdict recorded after the 1976 conference of the British Geomorphological Research Group. The sixteen conference papers which prompted this verdict are reproduced in this volume. They were commissioned from distinguished scholars in Britain, Europe, Australia and America in order to provide a general survey of the state of geomorophological studies.
