This volume provides an overview of socio-economic rights in the South African Constitution, as seen in the international context. An introduction to socio-economic rights is given, and the following rights are covered in separate chapters: the right to education; the right to housing; rights concerning health; the right to food; the right to water; the right to social security and assistance; and environmental rights. The overviews are written by South African and international experts. Comprehensive indexes to all the material referred to are provided.
