No great and worthwhile undertaking can sustain 100 years without many successes and some failures. This corporate history provides ample evidence of brilliance in concept and execution of the company's mission--always consistent with its concern for the public good. Yet this is not a praise-packed account of Commonwealth Edison. The book does not shy away from failures and even unseemly behavior or scandal.
