This commentary is another in a series of commentaries written for the general reader and student. The aim of both author and publisher has been to place in the hands of such readers, at a moderate cost, a work which gives intelligent, informative, and useful comment upon the text. In the Pastoral Epistles the apostle Paul realizes that the future of the work rests with the younger generation. His concern is that the gospel of saving grace should be fully possessed and faithfully passed on. These epistles, therefore, have an immediate relevance to the church of today, for the church is always faced with the task of instructing the younger generation and of passing on to it the priceless heritage of the faith. - Back cover.
