Sport History Review (SHR) is a forum for scholarly work in the field of sport history. With an editorial board that reflects the international diversity of its contents, SHR offers a solid approach to research and writing about sport history. It is an essential resource for those wishing to deepen their knowledge of sport and to critically understand the ongoing human infatuation with sport. Recent issues of SHR have featured articles on the nature of historical research in sport and the application of theory to sport history, as well as content ranging from the nationalistic influence of sport in South Africa in the 1990s, to the effects of sport coverage by Canadian newspapers in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Articles with a strong theoretical basis will continue to be published in future issues. Also available is the online format of SHR that offers the same authoritative content available in the print edition, but with the additional advantages of electronically formatted material including the ability to search journals in seconds, access to five years of back issues, and e-mail notification that the online version is available before the print version mails.
