The Enneagram explains how different people see the world, allowing us to understand where other people are coming from. From that standpoint, it's helpful for communication, workplace interaction, and relationship building. It's also a deeply growth-oriented concept, in that it describes habits of thought and behavior for each personality type--habits that keep many people stuck under day-to-day stresses-- and offers ways to break out of those boxes.
