Wojciech Zamecznik (1923-1967) is an emblematic figure of the post-war Polish graphic arts circles. A self-taught photographer, he expands his knowledge through his readings and practice. His implication in the Polish art scene and many travels in Europe as part of his professional activities, contribute to his photographic knowledge. His interest in new technologies and his technical mastery--in matters of shooting or print processing--led him to create a vast photographic register. His archives reflect the influences of several art movements as well as the diversity of his interest in the medium. Wojciech Zamecznik considers photography as a mode of expression to be explored. His constant experimentations with the medium are motivated by the ambition to create innovate graphic forms. --
