Chris, a teenager living in rural Alabama, is challenged by his pastor to learn the meaning of Jesus' parable of a treasure hidden in the field. The lesson is learned after a millionaire from Oklahoma commissions Chris and his unusual helper, Hootie, to find a buried treasure in Colombia, South America. Chris and Hootie experience many adventures as they see the hidden treasure in Cartagena, Bogata and three islands: San Andres, Providence and Santa Catalina.
