The "Magpies Stories at Stages 8 and 9" have been dramatized by BBC Schools and are now available on cassette. The Teacher's Pack that supports the learning outcomes of the programmes is available from Oxford. The tapes and Teacher's Pack are designed to enhance children's thinking, speaking, and listening skills, as well as being a useful follow-up to guided reading sessions. Links are made to the NLS objectives for Y2. The book contains: programme summaries; suggested activities for before and after the programme; twenty photocopiable activity sheets with clear programme links; and four additional activity sheets for generic use.
