Death Hawk is a 25th century salvage expert. With his protoplasmic partner Cyke, he travels the Orion Spur in a rattletrap spaceship, the Peregrine, looking for the next big score. The hard-luck hero finds himself engaged in a quest to discover the secrets behind the ancient alien race known as the Skril and the sole surviving relic of their culture—the mysterious Soulworm.
