<p>This checklist provides alphabetical lists of the species of fauna and flora included in Appendices I, II and III of CITES (The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species). It is widely used by the CITES Management and Scientific Authorities, Customs officials, and all others involved in implementing and enforcing the Convention, as well as by non-governmental organisations, academics and others. This list provides not only the scientific names, but also the common names in English, French and Spanish. This latest edition has been revised to take into account the amendments adopted at the 12th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention in Santiago, 2002.</p>
