<p>In The Heat Of Texas is the story of Toombs Sullivan who leaves Georgia after the Civil War and goes to Texas where he becomes a Texas Ranger. He quickly becomes involved in the fight against cattle thieves and killers, among them Comanche Indians and Comancheros. He faces the elements of heat and the dry land as well as danger at every turn, not just out in the country, but in town as well. There is no safe place.</p>
