The twelfth congress of the International Courtly Literature Society offered an interdisciplinary and cross-national view of four principal themes concerning myths in medieval courtly literature: courtly mythology, depictions of power, exemplary figures and political utility, amorous debates. The studies shed light on the European dimension of this evolving civilization, and incite discussion unencumbered by the frontiers the habitually separate the different areas of medieval studies.
