Class Wars is the story of the colorful and often controversial people who transformed the Washington Education Association from a staid professional association ruled by school administrators into the state's most powerful public-sector labor union between 1965 and 2001. Based on internal documents and more than sixty interviews, this book chronicles how teachers and other education employees took control of the WEA and advanced the common cause of members, school children and education reform throughout Washington state.
