In this volume, Jean Piaget sets out to examine teaching methods which, he concludes, can be compared to a crude method of rote "force feeding". The foundations of M. Piaget's studies stem from his thesis that the human child is not only different from all other animal children but also different at each stage of development -- so different that many of today's teaching devices are irrelevant.
