In the second grade, Amy completed a project about women in history. She was moved by the work that Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucy Stone, Clara Barton and others did for women's rights. Since then, she has been sensitive to inequities between women and men. One Sunday morning in April 2018, Amy and I were in the car and she asked, "Mom, do women earn as much money as men?" We subsequently had a deep conversation about gender and racial equality. I pledged to support Amy in any work she wanted to initiate to increase understanding and create changes in behavior. Amy decided to write this book to inform, inspire and raise funds for the promotion of equal rights for women and girls - here in the U.S. and outside. I am a proud mother of a 9-year old with a big heart. This book is about maximizing her emotional maturity to create understanding and to promote change. Thank you for reading.
