How are philosophy and (Christian) theology related? They ask similar questions. Who are we? Who is God? What is the relationship between God and us? How can we know God and ourselves? How do we know what we know is true? In our journey to find answers to these questions, we may discover we are God’s children. We then ask, “Since we are God’s children, how do we live in a world that we are part of, yet we are not of this world?”

I have attempted to address these questions in a devotional/Bible study trilogy. The first book, Walking the Talk, covers Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7) and addresses what we do in life and why we should do it. The second book, Praying the Walk, deals with the how via the misnomer Lord’s Prayer, what I call the Daddy Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13); we can live the Sermon on the Mount when we ingrain the Daddy Prayer. How we can do this is addressed by the third book, Living the Prayer. It continues in depth with the who, the essence of the Daddy Prayer; the what, the child-Daddy relationship we have with God; and the how, the principles to deepen this relationship. Here, we will look at the life of Jesus to uncover these gems. When we know who we are and to whom we belong, we will know where we are heading. As God draws closer to us, and we draw closer to him, the road becomes less foggy, and we will know how to get there, especially when there is a fork in the road.

This last book of the trilogy will continue to help you be like Christ in attitude and action—knowing your purpose in life and fulfilling your destiny with love as your motivating force, which ultimately glorifies our Father in heaven. At the end, you, too, will be able to say, “It is finished,” having accomplished all the Father desires of you by blessing those around you.
