Acting Like Death, is FBI agent Lily Foxworthy's second case file in Santa Barbara, California. It's a far more intimate one than the previous, which consumed her entire life and from which she almost didn't recover. After a friend gives her a ticket to see A Midsummer Night's Dream at the same theatre where her lover Lothar von Rabenhorst conducted his own glorious music, she meets a brilliant Shakespearean actor, Peter Hawking. Lili doesn't know why, but she's also immediately attracted to the gorgeous man, who reminds her of Lothar. As she's drawn into the ghostly mystery at his theatre, Lili and the two men in her life appear to be connected somehow, until a fateful conclusion at the end of this story.
