It will not he improper to observe here, that the Bishop of Ely, and his temporal Steward, (for the time bein,) are constituted by this Act Justices of the Peace within the said Isle, for ever.' The Chief Justice of the Isle of Ely is appointed by Letters Patent under the hand and Seal of the Bishop, and holds his Oflice, qufim (lit) sc be-nc' gesseri't.'
