Catalogue of an exhibition of 79 works from the National Galleries of Scotland, which trace the visual history of the modernist period from its beginnings in the later 19th century up to the present day. Includes examples of the major movements of European art such as Impressionism, Fauvism, Cubism and Surrealism, as well as focusing on a number of British and Scottish artists. Each movement is introduced with a short essay and the images of works are accompanied by a description.
