Hardcover book, third edition from 1975. Useful for advanced undergraduates in physics and engineering who have some familiarity with calculus. The first eight chapters involve a presentation of classical thermodynamics without recourse to either kinetic theory or statistical mechanics. In later chapters, the authors show how microscopic properties of the system can be determined by these methods. Problems are presented at the end of each chapter.
