Purpose: 1) provide non-veterinary healthcare providers (HCPs) with general information concerning the handling of military working dogs (MWDs), and 2) provide - as appendices to this base document - clinical medical guidance for management of seriously ill or injured MWDs to assist in recognition and initial resuscitation and stabilization of life- and limb-threatening conditions that warrant HCP intervention in the absence of veterinary personnel.
