The book discusses the form and final disposal of nuclear wastes, including alternative methods of nuclear waste disposal. The text also describes the structure of hard rock and salt formations; the formation of groundwater; the quantity and velocity of groundwater flow; and the groundwater flow near the repository and through the disposal rooms and to the surface. The factors that influence disturbed rock and the groundwater; the long-term behavior of the rock and the groundwater; and the nuclear waste leakage into the groundwater are also considered.
