This volume grew out of a Nordic research project “Rearticulations of Reason: Recent Currents.” The aim of the project was to explore the various uses of the concepts of reason and rationality in twentieth century and contemporary philosophy, and to develop new ways of understanding those concepts. This volume takes into account the main twentieth century traditions, analytic philosophy, phenomenology, and pragmatism, and contributes to fields where the concepts of reason and rationality play a central role, such as philosophy of mind, philosophical anthropology, philosophy of language, ethics and metaethics, political philosophy, and metaphilosophy.
