Heinz Dorn is an Austrian Jew, and a printer by trade. Aged twenty two and having just started a family, Heinz experiences the invasion and occupation of Austria by Nazi Germany. Heinz's parents, first wife Halfrid, and two year old daughter Adali, are sent to Dachau (and some of them latterly to Auschwitz). It is not until after the war that Heinz is able to confirm their deaths, (and learn how they died).Heinz himself evades capture, joins the Austrian resistance and finds notoriety in the Jewish community as an assassin of Nazi officers and saboteur of Nazi installations. Heinz also oversees the printing and distribution of propaganda against the Nazis. His identity is discovered when Nazi soldiers capture and torture one of his friends. Heinz is hunted and flees to Britain, but the British authorities deport Heinz to an internment camp in Canada, suspecting he is a German spy. It doesn't take long for British intelligence to realise they have a potentially potent and lethal weapon at their disposal. Heinz is returned to Britain where British intelligence persuade him to enter Nazi Germany with a new identity, as their agent. Heinz undertakes some deadly sabotage against the Nazis, but Nazi memories are long. A Nazi Colonel, risen quickly through the ranks following his ruthless and brutal expunging of the Austrian resistance is Heinz's target. Two deadly adversaries re-engage.Author's NoteThis thrilling adventure book is based on the true story of the Author's maternal grandfather; accomplished assassin and saboteur, but also an enthusiastic domestic chef with a great affection for his favourite meal of soup and home-made dumplings. The horrors of war, genocide, persecution, and the emotional turmoil of both loss and revenge are portrayed as many people must have experienced them. Let us never forget.
