Northern Scotland is a cross-disciplinary publication which addresses historical, cultural, economic, political and geographical themes relating to the Highlands and Islands and the north-east of Scotland. It is available in book and journal format. Containing a variety of articles, reports, opinion pieces and reviews, Volume 6 (May 2015) considers crofting, visual culture and the integration of the elite and wider communities of the Northern Highlands, space and place in 18th Century Northern Isles as well as the children of 'free coloured' women and Highland Scots in Guyana.
