
CHINA (1949-2014), an album of paintings and the tribute to the 65th anniversary of the founding the People's Republic of China (PRC), comprehensively demonstrates the brilliant achievements of PRC in the past 65 years. The book is the most authoritative version which combines efforts of authoritative scholars from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Party History Research Centre of the CPC Central Committee, CCCPC Party Literature Research Office. Firmly grasping the spirit of the 18th National People's Congress and the Third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee meetings, the book of about 150,000 words (including notes), with 212 photos, is divided into six chapters in annalistic style. The first two chapters, namely the period of 1949-1956 and 1957-1978, focus on nearly 30 years of painstaking exploration and great achievements made before the reform and opening up, which mainly means that the establishment of the socialist system provided the fundamental political prerequisite and institutional basis for the development and progress of China in contemporary era. The next four chapters, namely periods of 1978-1992, 1992-2002, 2002-2012, and 2012 till now, introduce world-renowned achievements promoted in the past 36 years since the reform and the opening up.
