This is the first major study of the most famous contemporary witch community, written by an author who herself participated in a coven for ten years. It examines the Reclaiming community of witches, founded in 1979 in San Francisco, analyzing how it has constructed gendered religious identities. Jone Salomonsen describes and examines the communal and ritual processes and practices of Reclaiming, and how these cause and promote personal growth and cultural-religious change.
