While the methods and tools used to build software applications become increasingly powerful and sophisticated, the complexity of the problems that need to be solved continues to rapidly grow. ASWEC 2006 includes over 40 papers from researchers and practitioners that discuss state-of-the-art software engineering techniques and tools that can help successfully build highly complex software applications. Established in 1986, ASWEC is the premier technical meeting for the Australian software engineering community, and attracts a significant number of international participants. The major goal of the conference is to provide a forum for exchanging experience and new research results in software engineering.
