The dictionary was fully edited at the Australian National Dictionary Centre in Canberra -- the world's leading research centre into the Australian English lexicon. Through Oxford University Press, the editors, Mark Gwynn and Amanda Laugesen, had access to the most comprehensive -- Land continually updated -- database of the English language as it is used worldwide, the same database that informs the twenty-volume Oxford English Dictionary. Through the Centre, the editors also had access to the largest citation database of Australian English, the source of Oxford's Australian National Dictionary (second edition published in 2016).
