Celebrated master photographer Harold Feinstein began taking photographs as a teenager. Early on, his black and white street photography caught the attention of Edward Steichen, director of photography at the Museum of Modern Art, who purchased his photographs for the Museum's permanent collection. Feinstein's photographs have been exhibited by, and are represented in, the collections of other major museums, including the International Center of Photography, the George Eastman House, the Museum of the City of New York, and the Musee dArt, Moderne in Paris. Flowers and horticulture are Feinstein's most recent passion, and the dazzling large scale photographs featured here allow us to view up close the intricacies and delicate beauty of one of the most popular flowers, the rose.
