This joint meeting of the ASME and IEEE as the dual focus of fault detection and standards. Detection systems play a key role in the insurance of railway safety in the prevention of in service failures. Well conceived standards, like detection systems, also enhances operational safety by providing safe operational conditions. Electrical standards also reduce costs by decreasing unit costs and inventory demands. This volume contains some of the initial work towards modern standards for the light rail and transit industries.
